These are the most important birds to know when you are birdwatching at Eagle Bluffs. (77 birds)
These images were taken at Eagle Bluffs by Bill Allen, Terry Willis Baker, Bob Crow, Terese Dishaw, Chris Dohm, Zach Eldridge, Doug Hardesty, Garrett Hise, Brian Lockwood, Deborah Lucia, Rebecca Jean Miera, Cheryl Rosenfeld, Chris Shoffner, Jon Rapp, Julie Smallwood, Dennis Smarr, Colette Vranicar, and Doug Wallace from the Facebook group Friends of Eagle Bluffs Photography. I am very thankful for their permission to use their beautiful photographs.
This list is restricted to birds that beginners should be able to recognize easily and will be rewarded by seeing them frequently. Many commonly seen birds are left off this page, particularly most shorebirds, warblers and sparrows, because the distinctions between them are too hard to easily remember.
There are several companion pages:
- Birds of Eagle Bluffs (Common Edition) has a more extensive list of 135 birds commonly seen at Eagle Bluffs, some of which are more difficult to recognize or remember.
- Birds of Eagle Bluffs (Advanced Edition) lists all 294 birds that have been documented at Eagle Bluffs, with a score of how common they are, and a picture when available (171 so far.)
- Birds of Eagle Bluffs (Children’s Summer Edition) lists the top 22 birds to know for your very first time birdwatching at Eagle Bluffs in the summer.
- Birds of Eagle Bluffs (Children’s Winter Edition) lists the top 28 birds to know for your very first time birdwatching at Eagle Bluffs in the winter.
